When/how did you get into Hip-Hop?

When Tupac's "Me Against The World" album came out it was the first time I liked a rap album enough to buy it (aside from MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice as a kid), and I was hooked since then. I came across The Roots a few years later and became a fan of them around the time they came out with Things Fall Apart.
